Rapid Bay Campground’s husband-and-wife management team, Assistant Park Manager Lisa Glover and Park Manager Allan Glover
What started as a family camping trip with the grandkids earlier this year has become a dream lifestyle change for Lisa and Allan Glover.
Since joining Rapid Bay Campground’s management team four months ago, the husband-and-wife duo have been helping create memorable experiences for visitors while building a strong sense of community at the popular coastal destination.
Managed by Belgravia Pro (Bpro), Rapid Bay Campground is known for its stunning beachfront location, relaxed atmosphere, fishing, wildlife and pet-friendly camping, attracting visitors from across South Australia and beyond.

For Lisa, the move into campground management began with a simple conversation while holidaying at Rapid Bay with her family.
“While staying at the campground, we found ourselves chatting with the managers at the time and asking, ‘How do you get a job like this?’” Lisa said.
“It has always been a dream of ours to manage a campground or holiday park, combining our love of the outdoors, camping, travel and meeting people from all walks of life.
“What started as a casual conversation during a family getaway eventually turned into the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us.”
Since joining the team, Lisa and Allan have focused on creating a welcoming environment where guests can slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy quality time with family and friends. “One of my proudest moments with Belgravia has been helping bring people together and building a genuine camping community where families and travellers feel welcomed, valued and cared for,” Lisa said.
“I love creating an environment where people can relax, connect and make lasting memories with the people they love most.”

One of those moments came over the Easter long weekend when a family who had camped at Rapid Bay every Easter for 20 years told Lisa they had considered making it their final visit.
“They felt the Easter camping atmosphere had lost the special vibe it once had,” she said.
“After spending time chatting with them and getting to know their family, they came to us at the end of the weekend and told us they had an amazing time and would certainly be back next year.”
Another special moment came on ANZAC Day, when the campground hosted its first beachfront dawn service overlooking Rapid Bay. “We had a wonderful turnout from our camping community,” Lisa said.

“One of our guests read the Ode of Remembrance, followed by the Last Post as the sun rose over the bay. It was a really special moment of reflection and remembrance, and one that made both myself and my husband Allan incredibly proud. Bringing the community together in such a meaningful way reminded us exactly why we love what we do.
“What I love most about my role is the people and the sense of community that comes with campground life. It’s very fulfilling seeing people disconnect from busy everyday life and reconnect with nature, friends and family around them,” she said.
Lisa has helped grow Rapid Bay Campground’s Facebook and Instagram presence, sharing its coastal scenery, local wildlife, camping experiences and community spirit and encourages anyone looking for their next camping getaway to experience Rapid Bay for themselves.
“Rapid Bay really is an untapped beauty,” she said.
“Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or a longer stay, there’s something special about the scenery, the people and the sense of community. We love welcoming new visitors and helping them create memories that will last a lifetime.”
