What do classical music, tourism, guest experience and business growth have in common?
For Amanda Porter, each has helped build the skills that led her to a newly created Product Growth Tourism role with Belgravia, showing how careers can evolve in unexpected and rewarding ways.
After joining Belgravia Pro (Bpro) in 2021 to lead the Tourism Contact Centre during its early stages, Amanda has now stepped into this newly created role, reflecting both her impact on the business and a career journey spanning music, hospitality, tourism and destination management.
In her new role, Amanda will focus on making the guest experience simpler, smoother and more consistent, from the first online search through to booking, arrival and the overall tourism experience.
Before joining Bpro Amanda worked as a classical musician and teacher before building a successful career in tourism, including operating an award-winning tour company and leading destination-based tourism experiences.
While the industries may seem worlds apart, Amanda believes the skills that matter most have remained the same.
“At its core, classical music is about understanding people, interpreting emotion, responding to an audience and creating moments that resonate. Those same principles underpin great guest experience. You’re ultimately trying to understand people and create something meaningful for them,” Amanda said.
Across her leadership of the Tourism Contact Centre and her work within the wider Tourism Team, Amanda has played a key role in strengthening performance and reshaping the end-to-end guest booking and experience journey across the business.

“One of my proudest achievements has been helping transform the Contact Centre and digital guest journey while delivering measurable results for both guests and the business,” Amanda said.
“Over that period, we achieved an 11 percentage point increase in online contribution, reduced review response times by 79%, improved survey turnaround times by 68% and increased survey coverage by 59%.
“More importantly, it showed what can be achieved when you combine strong systems, clear communication and a genuine focus on the guest experience.”
Her ability to combine guest experience thinking with commercial and operational outcomes led to opportunities beyond the Contact Centre, joining the Tourism Team in 2024 before progressing into her newly created position in 2026.
For Amanda, one of the most rewarding parts of the journey has also been seeing ideas become reality.
“I love taking something from concept through to implementation and seeing the positive impact it has on both guests and our teams. I’m excited to continue helping Belgravia strengthen its tourism offering and create experiences that our guests genuinely value,” Amanda concluded.
Amanda’s career journey is a reminder that careers don’t always follow a straight line and that some of the best opportunities come from bringing together experiences from completely different worlds.
