It was exciting to see the Mayor of Moonee Valley Counsellor Cam Nation onsite at the Keilor East Leisure Centre to signify the completion of construction.
Cr Nation shared a glimpse of the various areas of Keilor East Leisure Centre highlighting the health club, pools and aqua play area. Cr Nation looked at home in his Lifeguard Uniform standing outside the 50m heated outdoor pool and much like us, he is excited to see the doors open once restrictions permit.
After his visit to Keilor East Leisure Centre, Cr Nation encouraged the community to get the vaccination rates up, posting on social media, “The new $52m Keilor East Leisure Centre has been officially opened. Now we just need to get those vax rates up so we can enjoy this amazing facility.”
Keilor East Leisure Centre Key Dates
- The outdoor pool is set to open in line with Phase B of the National Plan – at this stage that’s the 26th of October. Bookings will be required.
- Indoor facilities will follow soon after on November 5th.
- There will be a limited number of pre-sale memberships available which come with 4 weeks free access.
Welcoming the community to this brand new venue will be an exciting way to celebrate the end of our current lockdown restrictions.
Whilst the first day of operation may look a little different to what the team had hoped due to restrictions, we know this incredible venue will be will a hub for improving the health and wellbeing of the Moonee Valley community.
