Meet Liz! Liz has been with Belgravia Leisure for just over four years now and says she loves the vast variety of design work she is able to create for the company.
“Working for a business with such a large scope across leisure, tourism, business development, retail and the Belgravia Foundation; ensures every day is different! One day I might be assisting local venues with their artwork, the next day I’ll be working with the marketing team to build our national campaigns, or conceptualising and developing a new brand,” Liz explained.
What are some of your highlights/magic moments working with Belgravia Leisure?
“There have been so many awesome projects I’ve had the opportunity to work on with Belgravia Leisure. One of my favourites has to be working closely with the amazing Georgia Hall (Marketing Specialist) and legendary Michael McKay (Area Manager Victoria Golf) to develop the Goanna Golf brand.”
“It was great to see everything come together, from the creation of the initial logos and sketches to drawing the course map on the ground and then seeing the final product come to life. This project was a lot of fun, and a real “magic moment” working with Belgravia Leisure,” Liz explained.
How have you, your team & venue been impacted by COVID-19 & what have you learnt?
“COVID-19 has affected us all in so many ways. It has been so hard to see so many venues closed for such long periods of time, and so many team members unable to do what they do best in connecting the community to leisure.”
“I am so lucky to work with such an amazing marketing team who have continued to work tirelessly throughout the pandemic, and one of the lessons I have had to learn personally is how to manage the transition from working at the office to working from home. There have definitely been many hard moments, and making sure I have been able to maintain a work-life balance has been a vital lesson for me.”
“Prioritising my wellness, having time out, maintaining support and social communication with the team, and establishing a solid routine has been vital,” Liz explained.
What is your favourite thing about your career?
“As a graphic designer, I have been lucky to be able to work across different industries, and working within leisure is such a highlight. Sport and physical exercise are such a huge part of my life, and I’m really proud to help play a part in delivering products and services to our communities. Working with the Belgravia Foundation, and seeing the important work done by Alex Lord, Jeff Walkley and the team across access and inclusion has been such a fulfilling part of my role.”
What are 3 things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
“I think it’s so important to have an active lifestyle if you’re able to. Being in lockdown here in Melbourne, I really miss being able to go to the gym. I also love to roller-skate, trail run, mountain bike, and go hiking. Being in nature really allows me to clear my mind, and spending time with friends on the trails gives me life!”
“I’m super passionate about music, and always have tunes playing. I love how it can change your mood, and I have playlists that inspire me to be creative, for when deadlines are looming and when I need to slow down and chill,” Liz concluded.
