Meet Natalie, who works in the Evolution Training and Education sector of BelgraviaPRO.
Evolution is the new trading name of our Registered Training Organisation delivering courses in First Aid and CPR. This new venture into first aid is the latest addition to our RTO where we also deliver qualifications in Travel, Tourism and Holiday Parks and Resorts. Natalie’s position as the RTO Administration Manager sees her dealing with all things training, students and compliance.
Natalie was a part of the initial formation of BelgraviaPRO in early 2018, transferring from PRO Management. Natalie’s role since then has, in her own words, “been delivering training, writing resources, supporting students and managing the never-ending paperwork to ensure our RTO remains ‘compliant’.”
What are some of your highlights/magic moments working with Belgravia?
“Some of my highlights with Belgravia were the initial stages and excitement of forming a new company, with Belgravia Leisure expanding into tourism and holiday parks and campgrounds.”
“A special “magic moment” was also when our small RTO team were successful in our application to become a Registered Training Organisation – with less than 40% of applications getting through the strict process! Each successful audit since then is also a great feeling knowing that what we have achieved to date is also approved by department regulators,” Natalie explained.
How have you, your team & venue been impacted by COVID-19 & what have you learnt?
“Like many other companies, we have seen a huge impact on our business due to COVID-19. This impact ranged from initial staff stand-downs right through to the inability for us to hold our practical tourism training courses interstate, with only four courses being held since February 2020. We normally run six practical courses per year, split between New South Wales and Queensland with students travelling from all states and territories.”
“We were aiming to increase the number of tourism courses to 8 – 10 per year but this has just not been possible with the ongoing lockdowns and border restrictions. On a positive note, we are hopeful that by early next year we will be able to achieve some kind of “COVID Normal” and start running our practical courses in both NSW and QLD and we are also looking to expand into Victoria as well,” Natalie explained.
What is your favourite thing about your career?
“I love the work I do. I have definitely found my niche in writing resources and maintaining compliance – even with the headaches and stress, each audit brings. I love seeing students complete their training, developing further skills and with our tourism/holiday park qualifications, move into their “dream position”.”
“My next favourite thing would have to be my team. We are a small but mighty team and we are all committed to delivering quality training through Evolution Training and Education. We support each other, we communicate freely and encourage different thoughts and ideas. We also have a lot of laughs together which is the best thing after a tough day or week,” Natalie explained.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
“I believe that Evolution will grow from strength to strength and I hope that I am able to be part of that growth, expanding our scope with new courses, new qualifications and new delivery locations. Watch this space!”
What are 3 things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
- “Family. Coming from a very close family, my time spent with immediate and extended family is treasured.”
- “Heart health. Having had a heart attack almost six years ago at 48 years of age due to family history, I am passionate about spreading the word about checking on your heart health.”
- “Getting Evolution’s students “over the line” with their theory and training. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to “sign off” a student.”
“After being part of the original ownership and board of BelgraviaPRO, I am excited to see the company growing and expanding under the new ownership and management structure. I’m sure the sky is the limit for BelgraviaPRO and Evolution Training and Education,” Natalie concluded.
