With the sun shining down on Kangaroo Flat Primary School, the local community gathered on the school grounds for a fun day out on May 18, 2022. Pony rides, tennis activities, an animal petting zoo, a climbing wall and of course, the team of Gurri Wanyarra showcasing the venue and all it has to offer the local community.
With attendance exceeding previous years, the team engaged with the community who were keen to know more about what was available at the wellbeing hub.
“It’s always great to chat with locals about our amazing venue without them feeling the pressure of having to make an on-the-spot decision,” said Jake Thurn, Guest Experience Manager at Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre.
“In a relaxed and friendly environment, we were able to spend time with parents, carers, young people and seniors; to explore with them various programs and access points suited to their individual needs. Kids loved the ‘Play it Safe’ tote bags and our GOswim characters certainly drew inquisitive minds to our swim lessons.
“At Gurri Wanyarra, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and accessible venue for all and this is demonstrated through our programs, initiatives and activations. Every day, our team works towards Belgravia Leisure’s core principles where each team member delivers upon our CLEAR values, where the community comes first,” Jake concluded.
