Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre celebrated its 10th birthday at the weekend. Hosted by Belgravia Leisure and City of Sydney, the public event celebrated this great milestone with Lord Mayor Clover Moore, and Olympic legends Ian Thorpe and Geoff Huegill and the Sydney community.

Thorpe explained in Australasian Leisure Management magazine, “it’s hard to believe 10 years have passed since this stunning aquatic centre was opened. I’m so pleased that generations of kids have had such an excellent facility to train at.

“I’m especially proud of the centre’s support for inclusive swim programs such as Take Charge and Swim Champs and that it’s a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme facility.”

Congratulations to the City of Sydney and Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre on this great achievement.
