Reflecting on another year of extraordinary dedication and service from our Belgravia Leisure teams across Australia and New Zealand, we would like to celebrate our 2024 Venue CLEAR Award winners.

The winners were announced during our December CEO Live & Venue CLEAR Awards celebration. The livestream brought together our leaders and teams who gathered together to celebrate their hard-earned achievements.
These awards recognise teams and venues that embody the essence of our CLEAR values, Customer Focused, Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Results. Our passion for connecting communities to leisure is driven by the incredible efforts of our teams, who deliver exceptional programs and services for all to benefit from in our communities.









Customer Focused: Thomastown Recreation & Aquatic Centre (TRAC), VIC

The Customer Focused Award was presented to the team at Thomastown Recreation & Aquatic Centre (TRAC) in Victoria.
TRAC was praised for consistently putting the customer at the heart of everything they do, with the recognition that “TRAC truly leads the way in ensuring our customers are the reason we do what we do. Their dedication to creating outstanding experiences is unmatched.”
Jarrad Carey, Venue Manager at TRAC, said, “We’re really proud of how we make our members, guests and community feel special. It’s what sets us apart. Our leadership team, including our Guest Experience Manager Greer Smith, leads by example, holding the team accountable and ensuring we deliver exceptional service. I also want to acknowledge Chris Hibbert, now at Mill Park Leisure, for his contributions to this achievement.”
Leadership: Whitlam Leisure Centre (NSW)

The Leadership Award was presented to the Whitlam Leisure Centre team in New South Wales for their exceptional community leadership. The lasting impact of Liz and Ernest’s contributions, along with the outstanding efforts of Alex Simmons, Catherine Foreman, and the entire team, was highlighted for fostering inclusivity and delivering quality outcomes.
Liz Stranix, Venue Manager at Whitlam, said, “This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to the community. Through inclusive programs and consistent quality, we’ve built strong relationships and earned recognition both internally and across the industry. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.”
Excellence: Stromlo Leisure Centre (ACT)

The Excellence Award was presented to Stromlo Leisure Centre in the ACT. The team was praised for innovation, strong community connections, impressive KPI results and a remarkable turnaround in NPS scores. Their ability to leverage support services to achieve outstanding outcomes was highlighted as a true demonstration of excellence.
Bernice Hay, Venue Manager at Stromlo highlighted the success of the Move It Canberra campaign. “The Move It Canberra campaign was a huge success, exceeding our goals within hours and showcasing Canberra’s passion for health and wellness. We also secured $10,000 from the Belgravia Foundation, supporting a refugee program at Gungahlin Leisure Centre. This funding has made a huge impact and we’re excited to pursue more opportunities like this in 2025.”
Accountability: Yawa Aquatic Centre (VIC)

The Accountability Award was presented to Yawa Aquatic Centre in Victoria. Known for their reliability and commitment, Yawa has set a benchmark for upholding responsibilities and meeting promises.
The Yawa team was praised for their detailed data and evidence. “The team went above and beyond, not only meeting all criteria but also leveraging audits and compliance activities to drive meaningful outcomes at their site. Their efforts were truly outstanding.”
Kai Nielsen, Assistant Venue Manager at Yawa, said, “Our leadership team sets high benchmarks, which inspires us to deliver exceptional results. Regular touch points with the Mornington Peninsula Council also help keep us accountable and focused on achieving great outcomes. This award reflects our team’s passion and dedication.”
Results: Marangaroo Golf Course (WA)

The Results Award was presented to Marangaroo Golf Course in Western Australia for their exceptional customer satisfaction, operational success and community engagement.
The team was praised for their strong performance, with impressive results in gross margins, wage-to-income ratios, and program success.
Douglas Bailey, WA Golf Area Manager, congratulated the team, saying, “Lee and his team have had an exceptional year and are very well-deserving of this award.”
Lee Norcliffe, Venue Manager, added, “This award reflects the hard work and expertise of our team. They’re dedicated to ensuring everyone feels safe, supported and well-cared for. We’re grateful for this recognition and excited to continue driving success for Marangaroo in 2025.”
