Belgravia Masters sent a team of ten swimmers to the Queensland State Titles at Tobruk Memorial Pool in Cairns last month. The team have come home with over 50 medals after breaking records and hitting personal bests at the state titles in Cairns over the three-day event.
Neil Newman, President of Belgravia Masters Swim Team said, “This successful and fun event was hosted at Tobruk Memorial Pool managed by Belgravia Leisure on behalf of Cairns Regional Council. We enjoyed an incredible three-day event at the re-furbished Tobruk Memorial Pool. The venue is a clean and modern facility and the team went to extra effort catering for the after swim social events.
“A special thanks must also be given to Deon Barnes for coaching the squad to give their absolute best performances,” Neil concluded.
The swim team consisted of Neil Newman, Vicki Newman, Stewart Bondarenko, Narelle Phillips, Marsha Reddiex, Bronwyn McKillop, Linda Vale, Kerry McGregor, Timna Wright, and Mallory Van Wensveen.
The Belgravia Masters swimmers enjoyed an outstanding performance with the medal tally over the three days equal to 21 Gold, 17 Silver, and 14 Bronze.

There were also six Queensland records broken by four swimmers.

The BRALC Squad Program consists of three distinct levels of instruction. Training groups are arranged into levels according to the swimmer’s abilities. The coaching staff assesses all swimmers in order to determine the appropriate training group.
