Three Paralympic swimmers from the Woden Valley Swimming Club (WVSC, also known as the Woden Sharks), from Belgravia Leisure’s ACT swim squad program at Stromlo Leisure Centre, Jasmine, Alex and Riley recently put on outstanding medal performances at the Para Pan Pacific Championships in the United States.
All three athletes achieved faster times than at the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials, the official selection event for the Pan Pacific Championships. Jasmine won silver in the 4 x100 Medley Relay, Alex won Bronze in the 100m Butterfly and Riley placed 10th in the 100m Breaststroke.
Bringing together 10 nations and 170 athletes, The Para Pan Pacific Championships in LA gave athletes the opportunity to compete in a range of competitive swimming events.

Stromlo’s partnership with the Woden Valley Swim Club through the GOswim Academy program provides a pathway for over 100 students who show an interest in belonging to a community club with the opportunity to continue their swimming success in the squad program or official competitions.
