We have achieved a remarkable seven nominations across four categories in the 2024 AUS Active National Awards. These prestigious awards recognise the achievements of exercise professionals, business owners, industry experts and suppliers across 29 categories.
As a standout moment for Belgravia Leisure and partner Determind2, Immersion Therapy has been nominated for the Industry Innovation Award. We are aiming for back-to-back wins following our 2023 victory in the same category with partner Cérge.
Kia Naylor is thrilled at the nomination, stating, “It is a testament to the whole team’s brilliant work and commitment to rolling this out to the highest quality with our participants outcomes at our core”.
Immersion Therapy, which uses SCUBA equipment to create a weightless underwater environment, offers transformative benefits for individuals with conditions such as autism, anxiety, depression, MS, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and soft tissue injuries.
In another impressive achievement, three of the eight nominees for Aqua professional of the year hail from Belgravia Leisure. Robert Drozdowski, who leads Aqua Aerobic and step-and-tone classes across City of Sydney centres, Margie Brown, Health Club Coordinator from Manning Aquatic Centre in NSW, and Amy Price Wilson, Health Club Coordinator from Gympie Aquatic Recreation Centre in Queensland have all been recognised for their exceptional contributions.
Margie Brown is also nominated for the Group Exercise Instructor of the Year and is excited about potentially taking home wins in both categories.
“Being nominated and becoming a finalist for both Group Exercise Leader of the Year and Aqua Professional of the Year in NSW is a true honour. These awards reflect not just personal dedication, but also a collective effort of my fitness team and members who have consistently inspired and supported me in this journey! I am humbled by the recognition in not one, but two categories, and a big thanks to everyone for always encouraging me to succeed in excellence in the fitness and wellness industry. My journey has been a truly rewarding experience.”
Additionally, Whitlam Leisure Centre (NSW) and Yawa Aquatic Centre (Vic) have both received nominations for Leisure Centre of the Year. Both centres have demonstrated industry best practices in areas such as community engagement, innovative fitness and wellness programs, high customer and employee satisfaction and resilience in the face of challenges.
