Clara and Dave’s story started in Albury by the Murray, where they first met. After their first date, they spent every weekend together. Six months later, they decided to travel around Australia in a humble 1995 Mitsubishi Delica. A few weeks later, their trusty sidekick Basil joined their lives and they settled into their first home together, where they got engaged.
Clara and Dave’s ceremony, set in the sunshine and accompanied by the gentle sounds of the river and birds, set a magical tone for the day. The nearby reception featured local touches, including drinks served from a beautifully renovated caravan bar by Riley Horan, music from Cath Adams and Hunter Rawson and delicious catering by Trang Hue Vietnamese.
The festivities continued the next day with a fun-filled recovery brunch, lawn games and Easter egg hunts for the kids, all made easy by the convenience of on-site accommodation.
Reflecting on their wedding, Clara said, “We had the most magical day, surrounded by our dear family and friends who all contributed greatly to our wedding. Our guests enjoyed staying at the venue itself, with options including cabins, motel rooms, caravan sites and camping spots. We knew a one-day wedding wasn’t enough so we organised a recovery brunch where everyone had a blast and made lifelong memories.
“We are so grateful that we were able to find everything we needed for our wedding locally and support our community here in the Central West. Everyone we worked with was absolutely wonderful. Brett and Sandy from Forbes Apex Riverside Park were a delight to work with. They took care of us and our guests and made sure the venue looked impeccable for the wedding day,” Clara concluded.
