From musical bingo nights to one of the busiest East Fremantle football game days of the year, Samuel ‘Sam’ Emms is part of the team helping create top notch hospitality experiences at Carnaby’s Bar & Restaurant in Western Australia.
Located within East Fremantle Community Park, Belgravia Leisure managed Carnaby’s Bar & Restaurant welcomes guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week, creating a community-focused hospitality experience for locals, sporting groups and visitors.

Since joining the Belgravia Leisure team in September 2024 as a Food and Beverage Attendant, Sam has progressed into the role of Food & Beverage Manager, helping deliver great service, hospitality operations and community events at Carnaby’s.
Originally arriving in Perth in May 2024 on a working holiday visa, Sam brought hospitality experience across kitchen, front-of-house and bar operations. Most recently, Sam introduced themed trivia nights and musical bingo events to create a more social atmosphere.
“The idea came from wanting to offer something different for our guests to enjoy midweek. The first month was a big success, with a strong turnout and really positive feedback from our customers,” Sam said.

Recent major events have drawn strong crowds, including a free family day attended by more than 2,500 people and the WAFL Finals, which brought in over 5,800 fans.
“The finals was our busiest day since we opened but I’ve always thrived working under pressure and been able to stay calm in high-pressure situations. Operations ran smoothly, it was an amazing team effort and a very successful day,” Sam said.
With a 4.1-star rating on Google reviews, guests consistently praise the attentive service, well-organised functions and welcoming atmosphere, with one reviewer noting, “The staff were so attentive and the timing of events spot on, I’d definitely recommend Carnaby’s for a work function.”
East Fremantle Community Park Venue Manager Glen McCulloch said hospitality plays an important role in creating a welcoming and community-focused environment at the venue.
“Sam consistently brings a positive attitude to the team and has a strong focus on creating a welcoming experience for our guests. It’s great to see new ideas continuing to bring people together and help build Carnaby’s as a destination for the wider community,” Glen concluded.
Carnaby’s Bar & Restaurant is part of Belgravia Leisure’s broader hospitality offering across Australia and New Zealand, alongside venues like The Grasslands at Yarrambat Park Golf Course, The Grass Lands Café & Bar at Point Walter Golf Course, Te Rourou Café within Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa and the Hepburn Pavilion Cafe at Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa.
Across the portfolio, hospitality teams help create welcoming spaces that support community connection, events and memorable guest experiences.
