Community is at the heart of country life, and no more so than in the picturesque Light Region of South Australia. Community gatherings offer opportunities for people to join together and support each other and plan for a prosperous and happy future, often with a focus on ensuring no one misses out on all the community can offer.
The Light Regional Farm & 4×4 Expo was held on March 25th and 26th at The FARM Centre, managed by Belgravia Leisure in Freeling. The expo provided a significant community event and barometer for social, economic, and agricultural prosperity and growth in the region.
The Belgravia Leisure team led by Venue Manager Ross Sharer provided outstanding support to the Expo and value-added by leading fundraising through the Belgravia Foundation to support community programs.
Daisy the donkey was a star of the fundraising at the Expo, strutting about on a lush well-grassed grid and, well… did what well-fed donkeys do – poo! Combined, over two arduous days munching grass and letting nature take its’ course, Daisy, along with a Jumping Castle activity, raised $1,119.90.
This money is reserved for use entirely in the community and will support inclusive cooking classes designed to enable improved independence, food choices, healthy eating and social connection.
