Mornington Peninsula Shire will partner with Belgravia Leisure for the management and operation of Pelican Park Recreation Centre, Civic Reserve Recreation Centre, Somerville Health & Fitness Studio, Crib Point Pool, Western Port Gymnastics at Hastings Hub and All Access outreach programs from October 29, 2017.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Councillor Bev Colomb said the partnership will bring the best services for the best value to members, user groups, and the community.
Cr Colomb said it will be “business as usual” with the same great services being delivered by the same great, friendly and professional team members.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with Belgravia Leisure to further our commitment to delivering the best health and wellbeing outcomes and services for the best value for money,” said Cr Colomb.
Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Officer, Nick Cox, said he is looking forward to working with Council to build upon the excellent work achieved over many years of service to the Mornington Peninsula community.
“Belgravia Leisure is very excited to be partnering with the Mornington Peninsula Shire and we look forward to working with the local team in expanding upon the current programs and services.
“We will work with existing members, user groups and community organisations to plan and deliver a range of new and exciting aquatic and fitness programs. In particular our focus will be on increasing access for people of all ages and abilities.
“Belgravia Leisure will maintain existing memberships and bookings, with no changes to current programs, services or operational hours. We are confident that through additional programming significant benefits will flow through to the community,” he said.
Belgravia Leisure will host a series of members’ breakfasts and information evenings, and will be in contact with user groups in the coming weeks. Mr Cox recognises the great work done by staff and has committed to supporting staff through the transition.
“Belgravia Leisure is pleased to offer every staff member ongoing employment and we will maintain their rate of pay and all other terms and conditions of their employment. We will also recognise all prior years of service for every staff member,” he said.
Belgravia Leisure staff have access to professional development and career progression opportunities across 120 aquatic, leisure, golf and sports facilities in Australia and New Zealand, as well as exclusive staff benefits.
