Ahead of International Women’s Day, we are highlighting some of Belgravia Leisure’s valued leaders. We spoke with First Sun Holiday Park Venue Manager and Area Manager for Northern New South Wales, Alex Evans to get to know her better and find out what International Women’s Day means to her.
Alex says, “International Women’s Day is a day to recognise the achievements woman bring to the world. Achievements in the workforce while juggling the challenges of everyday living that might include raising a family, and all things women are faced with.”
What do you love about your career?
“I absolutely love what I do. I love seeing the enjoyment our guests experience when visiting our park. I also try to ensure that we pass that enjoyment on to my fellow park managers and share our experiences amongst each other.
“While there’s a lot to love about my role, the past couple of years have been challenging. When staff were stood down, it was hard on all of us. Border closures and uncertainty was the hardest part and applying a new covid policy for our guests was a challenge. We wanted to ensure we were being fair for guests while still being reasonable for the business needs.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
“I see myself assisting other Park Managers with the day to day running of their parks. Guiding and assisting them in making Belgravia Leisure parks the best in the industry.”
What are 3 things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
“My family, I want to provide the best opportunities for them to achieve their best. Work, I appreciate having a productive day and sharing my knowledge with my colleagues and camping. There is nothing better than enjoying family time and adventures while camping.”
Belgravia Leisure is supporting International Women’s Day held on March 8th 2022. This year the campaign theme is #BreakTheBias.
