As the coronavirus pandemic escalated in Australia and New Zealand and we faced the likelihood of forced closures throughout our entire network of pools and leisure centres, our first concern was how we were going to protect our employees out on the field and at risk of infection. As the pandemic evolved and the government put stricter measures in place, Belgravia faced the grim inevitability of standing down our workforce as a short-term measure to protect their jobs in the longer term. Our next concern became how we could support the mental health and welfare of our people who have so passionately shown their true Belgravia spirit in these uncertain times.
We have put together a summary of online resources that we hope will provide some relief and support.
Mental Health Support

Physical Health and Fitness Support
All Belgravia employees have free access to the newly launched Home Fitness Network. Physical health is especially important during a time of crisis and staying fit physically will support your mental health during uncertain times.

Domestic Violence Helplines
Isolation often leads to tense family environments. If you, or anyone you know, is at risk of domestic violence we urge you to immediately seek help.

We hope that you will find these resources helpful, whether you have been stood down, are on reduced hours or have family members who have been directly affected by the virus. It is important to understand that it is perfectly normal to feel anxious, distressed and worried. Our country, and indeed, the world has never faced a pandemic that has escalated as quickly as COVID-19 and it is normal to feel like you are floundering. We will all be taking each day as it comes with the certainty that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
We are all in this together.
