There’s a lot about our ancestors we don’t know, and if we do, the past is often riddled with mystery and intrigue as we work our way through genealogy lines. Imagine for one moment, that your ancestor owned three distilleries. An ancestor who travelled from the Emerald Isle to the Land of the Free only to become known as a Master Distiller’.
Stir together history with the alfresco ambience of Point Walter’s The Grass Lands; a hint of coolness from Swan River and you have the ultimate mix of a Thursday Tasting Night. McRobert Distillery, located east of Point Walter Golf Course, is owned by Ian and Shane McRoberts. They are following in the footpath of their ancestor where their love of single malt whiskies, science and legacy is producing a range of whiskies loved by the fussiest of connoisseurs.
Combining the dulcet tones of Courtney Murphy, the perfect ambience of The Grass Lands, this unique tasting night at Point Walter was highly anticipated with McRobert’s Distillery the guest of honour.
Known for its distinguished blend of flavours, guests sampled McRobert’s local range including; Single Malt Whisky, Rare Release Red Whisky, Cask Strength Whisky, American Style Bourbon, 100% Rye Whiskey, 100% Corn Whiskey, White Rye Whiskey, Vodka and the very on-trend Gin.
The Grass Lands’s kitchen was busy serving delicious meals, including much-loved steak sandwiches and the team’s favourite, the fish taco. Each dish the perfect accompaniment to all things whisky.
“Focusing on local products to showcase at The Grass Lands is not only important to businesses, such as McRobert Distillery but can provide a place where the local community can experience and engage with local business owners,” said Marketing Coordinator Gavin Williams.
“By supporting local businesses, we increase awareness of brands yet to be discovered by locals and shine a light on opportunities where partnerships can grow. The team at Point Walter Golf Course are committed to growth and sharing our space with the local community,” Gavin concluded.
Whether you prefer your whisky neat or on the rocks, McRobert Distillery from Western Australia will entice and intrigue. With additional tasting nights on the menu at The Grass Lands, Point Walter Golf Course is leading the way in how its venue is an open space for community to share and discover local talent and businesses.
