If you’re visiting a Belgravia Leisure pool this summer season, you may notice something different about our pool lifeguards. The lifeguards at selected pools in Queensland, New South Wales and most recently, Victoria, are all wearing bright new lifeguard uniforms.
For us to stay safe around the pool, it’s essential that lifeguard uniforms are easily recognised and visible from a distance. The new Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations released by the Royal Lifesaving Society of Australia recommend that lifeguard uniforms should be primarily red and yellow, and it was these recommendations that inspired Belgravia Leisure’s new uniforms, designed and manufactured by Bizwear.
Bizwear, a leading supplier of corporate apparel, is part of the Belgravia Clothing Group. With Bizwear’s expertise in designing and sourcing uniquely designed uniform solutions, it made sense for Belgravia Leisure to partner with Bizwear to produce their new lifeguard uniforms.
“It’s important to acknowledge the key role that lifeguards play in keeping us safe in and around the water,” said Trent O’Hara, Group Workplace Health and Safety Manager at Belgravia Leisure. “The new uniforms are bright, highly visible and conform to recommendations from the Royal Lifesaving Society, so we’re confident they will make our pools even safer this summer.”
The new uniforms will be gradually introduced to all Belgravia Leisure pools in Australia and New Zealand over the coming months.
As we are about to enter the summer season, we encourage everyone to stay safe as you splash around at your favourite local pool, and don’t forget to wave to the lifeguards who are there to keep you and everyone else at the pool safe from drowning.
