Peta is celebrating an amazing 12 years at Belgravia Leisure this June! Beginning her career at Lawnton Aquatic Centre, Peta has progressed in several roles and for the past three years, leading Queensland as the Systems Administrator.
“I was first introduced to Belgravia Leisure as a Squad parent, with three of my children training at Lawnton Aquatic Centre. This is also where I began my tenure as a Learn to Swim Teacher, Pool Lifeguard and Guest Experience Officer. Through the support of Centre Manager, Michael Fox, I progressed through many different positions at Lawnton, gaining more confidence and upskilling along the way,” said Peta.
“I eventually adopted the role of School’s Coordinator and Events Coordinator before departing the venue to take on a position in Administrative Support for Queensland. When I was approached by the Queensland State Manager, Dan Cullen, to service admin and support, I jumped at the opportunity! My youngest still works at Lawnton Aquatic Centre and it’s wonderful seeing how things can come full circle.”
As a wife, a mum to four and a veteran of the Australian Defence Force, Peta’s experience helped shape who she is today. “Being a part of Belgravia Leisure, I recognise opportunities as a chance to grow and assist venues in a meaningful way. My current role entails supporting all QLD venues with their current systems and processes, including Activeworld.
“Under the guidance of Lexie Fall, I’ve had the privilege of learning new skills and afforded the opportunity to travel across Australia with visits to every Leisure and Pro site located in Queensland and northern NSW with Activeworld rollouts.
“My Belgravia travels have also included venues in South Australia, NSW and the Northern Territory. Seeing all the amazing facilities Belgravia Leisure helps manage is what I love about my job. I love forming new working relationships and even friendships with members of the Belgravia team nationally.”
Passionate about her family, Peta is delighted to see her children doing what makes them happy and being a part of their milestone moments. In her work life, Peta’s passion remains with the systems/processes and the GoSwim program.
“I remain a qualified swim teacher and one of my greatest joys would be to see all children learn how to swim. Working to the best of my ability is something I feel very strongly about. I am compelled to contribute to society, workplace and colleagues in meaningful ways,” reflected Peta.
‘Working with Belgravia Leisure has been and still is a different adventure each day. Many of my family and friends have joined the company and I recommend it to anyone who has a passion for leisure and parks,” concluded Peta.
On the weekends you’ll find Peta spending time with family and friends as they laze around the pool with the BBQ blazing!
