Originally employed as a casual Kiosk Attendant, Michelle McKiernan first started working with Belgravia Leisure at Albany Creek Leisure Centre in 2005.
Michelle has experienced many roles throughout her career with Belgravia Leisure including experience as a Learn to Swim Teacher, a Customer Service Officer, School Swimming Program Coordinator and Learn to Swim Coordinator.
Once upskilled, Michelle was then recruited as Assistant Venue Manager at Albany Creek Leisure Centre. After 18 months in that position, she transitioned into a Centre Manager role at Ferny Hills Aquatic Centre in 2013 and has been a Venue Manager ever since.
Michelle is now the Venue Manager at Bribie Island Aquatic Leisure Centre and says some of her highlights have been, “working with local Division 10 MBRC Councillor Matt Constance whilst at Ferny Hills Aquatic Centre. We worked to fast track the redevelopment of the 25m seasonal wading pool into a state of the art disability access and inclusion year-round indoor heated pool.”
Tell us about the people that you work with
Michelle explained how, “I have made some lifelong friendships whilst working for Belgravia Leisure, it’s how I met my now wife! My partner Catherine and I welcomed our son William into the world in 2018 and feel grateful for the flexibility and support that Belgravia Leisure provides to us as working parents.”
