Meet Ethan! Ethan is the maintenance worker at Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre.
In early 2021, AKAC partnered with Jobsupport, a leading employment services organisation in Australia for people with intellectual disabilities. Ethan Lawrence was recruited into the position of a maintenance worker at the venue under its workplace diversification project.
Ethan underwent a thorough training that was supported by Jobsupport in alignment with AKAC’s workplace requirements. Ethan proudly explains how he loves to work hard! “I clean the bathrooms and toilets, I mop and sweep the venue, gerni the pool deck as well as clean the gym. That’s one of my favourite parts of my job because I love listening to good music while I work.”
Ethan’s team members at Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre recently wished Ethan a Happy Birthday and say, “Ethan brings a positive energy to our venue and always has a smile on his face.”
What are your hobbies?
“I love fishing and playing sport especially, rugby league. I also love spending time with my family and friends.” Ethan explained.
What is your motto in life?
Ethan says his life motto is, “be kind to others and treat me the same as I treat you.”
I think we can all agree, that is a great life motto!
