Ahead of International Women’s Day, we are highlighting some of Belgravia Leisure’s valued leaders. We spoke with our Queensland, Nothern New South Wales and Northern Territory Regional Manager Amber Hughes to get to know her better and find out what International Women’s Day means to her.
“To me, International Women’s Day is a day to recognise and celebrate women who have achieved greatness in their own right, big or small, success around social, cultural, equality and inclusion.”
Belgravia Leisure is supporting International Women’s Day, held on March 8th 2022, this year the campaign theme is #BreakTheBias. Join us in celebrating women and together we can forge a more inclusive world.

Amber started working with Belgravia Leisure over 10 years ago. After 7 years with us, she made a career change before returning to her current role as Queensland, Northern NSW & Nothern Territory Regional Manager. Amber says, “one of the highlights for me is coming back to work for Belgravia Leisure and learning a different side of the business in PRO and Park Management.
“Magic moments to date have been being part of the Queensland team and conference, working with an amazing team with a great culture. Other magic moments are when our park managers continue to get fantastic feedback and reviews, definitely the reason why we do what we do.”
How have you been impacted by COVID-19 & what have you learnt?
“We were affected in Byron Bay given its in NSW and there was a real financial challenge with the border closures. We have made it through and will make a slow comeback over the next six months. We’ve learnt to control the controllable.”
What is your favourite thing about your career?
“My favourite thing about my career is working with an amazing team and seeing the great things we can achieve within our communities and the benefits it has on so many people.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
“I see myself still within the Queensland team but with more sites in the Northern Territory.”
What are 3 things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
- The relationships I have in my life, without them I wouldn’t be who I am today.
- Exercise because it keeps me going, fit and healthy.
- Cooking as it’s the best way of sharing time and amazing food with my family and friends.
