Is there a better way to close out the outdoor pool season than a pool full of dogs raising funds for a good cause?
Across Belgrave, Lilydale and Healesville Outdoor Pools, the answer felt pretty clear as four-legged swimmers took over for one final splash. The pawsome day brought the community together in one of the most anticipated events of the season and raised over $400 for Belgravia Foundation programs.
From dogs launching off the edge to others paddling laps beside their owners, each venue was filled with energy, laughter and a genuine sense of connection.

The response from the community reflected exactly that, with many describing the day as “the best time” and “such a great event” on Facebook, reinforcing just how much these moments mean locally.
Delivered as Belgravia Foundation fundraisers, Doggy Day operated on a gold coin donation, with additional support through community BBQs. Funds raised included $190 at Belgrave Outdoor Pool, $142 at Lilydale Outdoor Pool and $99 at Healesville Outdoor Pool, supporting inclusive programs across the region.

Venue Manager Rachel Scott said, “Doggy Day is something our teams look forward to every year. It’s a great way to bring the community together while also supporting programs that help more people access our pools. The funds raised go back into local initiatives and it’s a credit to the team who put in the work to create such a positive, inclusive experience for everyone in our communities.”
Beyond the fundraising, Doggy Day continues to show the value of simple, accessible events that bring people together. It’s a reminder of the role these venues play, not just as places to swim, but as spaces for connection, wellbeing and shared community experiences.
