We want to introduce you to Belgravia Leisure’s new Media and Communications Officer, Juliet Woodward. Juliet will be working from our National Head Office in Bayswater. Please join us in welcoming Juliet to the team and continue reading to get to know her a little better.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your previous role.
I’m originally from Singapore and have lived in Melbourne for over ten years. I love living in such a multicultural city that embraces people from all walks of life.
I have a marketing and communications background in publishing and retail technology and a Masters degree in Journalism. Most recently, I was integral to the formation of the Profit Protection Future Forum, Australia and New Zealand’s only not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bringing together retailers in the region to combat retail crime.
At Belgravia, I look forward to learning more about the health and leisure industry and supporting our communication initiatives to raise Belgravia’s profile externally. I’m also excited to share more of the wonderful work that Belgravia is doing through our internal communication channels such as B-Informed!
What are you enjoying the most about your position so far?
I’ve enjoyed meeting new people who are passionate about their jobs. It’s truly been a pleasure hearing about how most employees at Belgravia come into work every day excited about the company’s purpose to connect community to leisure and how their roles contribute towards this end.
How do you incorporate health and fitness into your lifestyle?
I enjoy taking walks in the lovely parks and walking tracks in my neighbourhood and look forward to renewing my membership at my local gym as it is part of the Belgravia family. I also enjoy learning healthy cooking techniques for myself and my family so we can incorporate a more balanced diet into our everyday lives.
How do you manage a healthy work-life balance?
I think it’s important to have “me” time every weekend, which could involve spending time with family or just working on personal hobbies and interests.
What are three things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
It’s hard to choose three! Can I share four things?
- Animals. My husband and I have two rescue cats (Mika and Mocha), and we are looking into other ways that we can help stray animals in our community.
- Food. Growing up in Singapore, where food is more of a pursuit than a necessity, I am very passionate about good food. My husband and I make it a point to try out new restaurants every weekend!
- Books. I read voraciously and my library card is my most precious possession along with my Ebook reader!
- Travel. I love crossing countries off my ‘to visit’ list, seeing new sights and experiencing new cultures.
Which CLEAR Value resonates the most with you and why?
Results. While I believe that the journey towards a goal is important, delivering a positive result is essential to the integrity and growth of any organisation.
