Belgravia Leisure’s Partners in Health team has helped create real career outcomes for Deakin University students, with five Deakin graduates now hired by Belgravia Leisure after completing their final assessments.
The outcome follows Belgravia Leisure’s recent attendance at the Deakin University Jobs Fair, where the Partners in Health team connected with more than 50 students and spoke about meaningful career pathways in community-based health, exercise and wellbeing.
The team attended the fair to showcase the growing role Allied Health professionals can play in improving everyday health outcomes for communities, while helping students explore what a career in community-based Allied Health can look like in practice.

Allied Health Growth Manager Daniel Alford said the event created strong conversations with students who were interested in purpose-driven careers.
“The level of interest from students was really encouraging, particularly around careers that allow them to make a genuine impact on community health and wellbeing,” Daniel said.
“A lot of students asked about the types of clients they could work with, the different funding schemes we operate within and what a career in community-based Allied Health actually looks like day to day.
“Our Allied Health careers video, featuring our Exercise Physiologists sharing their experiences and career journeys, sparked a lot of great conversations throughout the day.”
Operating within community aquatic and leisure venues, Belgravia Leisure’s Allied Health teams work with people from all walks of life, including children, teenagers, adults and older adults.
Clinicians support clients across a wide range of needs, including cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, metabolic, autism spectrum disorder, mental health, conditioning and performance. The team also works across compensable schemes including NDIS, aged care, DVA, TAC, WorkCover, Medicare, private health and private paying clients.
A Deakin University spokesperson said it was great to hear Belgravia Leisure had now hired five Deakin graduates, who have all completed their final assessments.
They said Belgravia Leisure’s presence at the Jobs Fair helped showcase the diverse and meaningful career pathways available across Allied Health, while demonstrating the genuine impact Allied Health professionals can make in community settings.
Belgravia Leisure will continue building relationships with students and education partners to support future Allied Health talent and strengthen career pathways.
