The Grass Lands in Victoria and Western Australia may be separated by 3497kms of highway but Mother’s Day at both Yarrambat (Vic) and Point Walter (WA) was celebrated through a delectable choice of menu options, carefully curated to thank mum on her special day.
As tables filled; flowers, chocolates and kisses for mum were gifted. Lots of ooh’s and ahhh’s as a proud grandmother carefully placed a macaroni necklace from her youngest grandchild around her neck. The celebration of family filled the ambient spaces and the teams delivered the guests of honour with a Mother’s Day to remember.
Yarrambat began its Mother’s Day celebration with a free glass of champagne for Mum and families were treated to a two-course lunch created by the new head chef, Jee.
With a choice of minestrone or fresh calamari, followed by chicken breast on a bed of risotto or creamy pumpkin gnocchi; each menu choice focused on flavour and produce designed to entice and bring freshness to the plate. With the weather on the cooler side, the hearty minestrone and creamy gnocchi provided warmth to the menu – just like mum’s hug!
With warmer weather on the west coast of Australia, Point Walter’s classic menu was a favourite with guests which included a side serve of the best chips you will find with chicken schnitzel, fish, beef and mushroom pie, spinach and ricotta quiche and salad with pumpkin, quinoa and feta. Not forgetting the littlest of humans at the table, choosing between mouth-watering chicken tenders, mac and cheese or fish chips proved to be quite the task!
As Mother’s Day celebrations came to a close, families and team members at both Yarrambat and Point Walter remembered mums, grandmothers, aunts and sisters no longer present to share heartfelt hugs on this special day. Whether it was through a shard toast with a local wine or quiet moment looking over the fairways, Mother’s Day created new memories to accompany old ones.
We hope all the mothers and mother figures enjoyed a beautiful Mother’s Day.
