Belgravia Foundation recently hosted its seventh annual Inspiration Breakfast, a heartwarming event dedicated to advancing inclusivity and access within the leisure sector.
Held on February 8th, 2024, this year’s breakfast, themed “Together We Thrive,” brought together over 240 attendees in support of Belgravia Foundation’s mission to empower individuals of all abilities through sport, leisure, fitness and health experiences. Emceed by Olympic Gold Medalist and Belgravia Foundation Board Member Brooke Hanson, the event truly embodied its theme, inspiring all in attendance.
A highlight was the participation of presenters Wishy Murimba, Community Engagement Coordinator; Ernest Kulauzovic, Community Engagement Manager; Ross Sharer, Venue Manager; Chris Kerrisk, Co-Founder Cérge and Dr Jeff Walkley, CEO, Belgravia Foundation & National Disability & Diversity Manager. Presenters shared insights into collaborative initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers and expanding access to community facilities, programs and employment opportunities.
From regional collaborations to national partnerships, the presenters illuminated the innovative strategies and inspiring stories behind their efforts to promote inclusivity in the leisure sector. The event underscored the Foundation’s commitment to driving meaningful partnerships and outcomes for all in 2024 and beyond.
Among the esteemed attendees were leading organisations and stakeholders in the health, sports and leisure sectors, including Austin Health, Spinal Research Institute, Determined2, Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), Aquatics & Recreation Victoria (ARV), Aquatic & Recreation Institute NSW (ARI), AUSactive, and many more.
Their presence reaffirmed the shared commitment to creating opportunities for all members of the community to participate in leisure activities.
