Carnaby’s Cafe, Bar & Restaurant has launched a new menu utilising the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant is appealing to a growing preference for a broader range of dining tastes in the East Fremantle community.
Head Chef Simon George has been a chef for 30 years and has been part of the Carnaby’s team since its opening two years ago, helping shape the venue’s food offering.

Located in the picturesque East Fremantle Community Park, Carnaby’s leans into the vibrant flavours of seasonal modern Australian cuisine, including the exclusive use of Western Australian seafood.
Fan favourites include the beer battered Goldband snapper, the steak sandwich with confit garlic aioli and house-made tomato chutney and the classic beef burger, with bacon and shallot jam. New menu items like spiced dry rub lamb ribs and confit potatoes with eggplant kasundi add further excitement to the menu.
“My love of cooking comes from the joy that great food can bring to others. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to become a chef and that passion has only grown over time,” said Simon.
“After more than 30 years in the industry, I still get great satisfaction from creating memorable dishes for people through the flavours, techniques and skills I have developed throughout my career.”
Simon says he works within a great team and hopes to work together for a long time, continuing to keep guests and the community happy.
“Our local patrons are very quality conscious. We aim to provide generous, high-quality meals that represent great value and can be enjoyed together. While the menu remains fresh and on trend, it continues to cater to a broad range of tastes across the community.
“The largest challenge we have taken on as a team has included serving large scale events, including East Fremantle football game days and the first WAFL game held at the new precinct, which drew a crowd of over 5,800. It was busy but incredibly rewarding.”
Of the new menu launch, Glen McCulloch, East Fremantle Community Park Venue Manager, said:
“We are proud of all the work Simon and the team have put into Carnaby’s since opening two years ago. The new menu is an exciting milestone and reflects the team’s ongoing passion for delivering quality food and a welcoming experience for the East Fremantle community.”
