Golf for Good events across Victoria raising funds for in-need groups.
In February, our Golf for Good campaign, in collaboration with the Belgravia Foundation throughout Victoria, continues to foster positive change and open doors to the sport of golf for local communities.
Our Victorian golf venues are raising essential funds towards programs and initiatives for their local communities to ensure everyone, no matter their characteristics, background or experience, can access and participate in golf.
Coined the ‘Golf for Good’ initiative, Belgravia Leisure managed golf venues including Geelong Golf Club, Yarrambat Park Golf Course and Spring Park Golf Course are each working alongside members, guests and community to raise funds throughout February, which will support the delivery of free access to programs for the local community, whereby 100% of the funds raised stays in the local community to support local people.
Across Victoria, the funds raised through Golf for Good initiatives will support a diverse a range of people. From all abilities golf, to come and try clinics and mini golf access, each experience is focused on raising essential funds to allow people to participate, engage and connect with the wider community through sport.
Geelong Golf Club’s Venue Manager and PGA Professional, Paul Christie, said, “Raising funds is essential as we continue to build awareness for those in our community who have limited access to the sport. Last year, we were able to raise $2,000 dollars in funds for Geelong Golf Club’s Northern Bay College Scholarships, and this year, we are hoping to make even more of an impact, raising funds for the 2024 scholarship recipients with our 9-hole Ambrose event.
“We can’t do it alone and we are exceptionally fortunate to have amazing members and guests who align with our community values and who are willing to provide support to the programs for our local community. We are incredibly proud of the work done to date and hope the legacy of the work we are doing today brings a brighter future for those in need,” Paul said.
