Rosemarie is the Facility Manager at Somerville Recreation Centre and knows a thing or two about the health and leisure industry. Rosemarie started in the recreation industry as an aerobics instructor about 16 years ago. With some hard work and persistence, Rosemarie went from instructing 30-minute classes to becoming a full-time employee and setting up 52 successful classes catering to all ages and abilities across the Mornington Peninsula.
After building her portfolio in Learn to Swim, group fitness, gym, childcare, gymnastics and outreach programs, Rosemarie was appointed the role of Facility Manager at Somerville Recreation Centre while also continuing her role as Community Engagement Coordinator.
“It sounds corny, but I love getting up for work every morning because I know we make a difference in our community. We have the ability to change people’s health and wellbeing on a daily basis and I love that. When I walk down the street people stop me and say ‘you have made a difference in my life. I am so much healthier and happier now, I have friends to talk to, I can play with my grandkids and I have an overall better quality of life’, that is why I love what we do at Belgravia Leisure.”
