Natascha, better known as Tash, has been with Belgravia Leisure since October 2021 and works at Loftus Recreation Centre as the Community Engagement Coordinator.
Tash has a passion for listening to customer needs and ensuring no one misses out. More recently Tash accepted the PLAWA 2022 Community Based Initiative of the Year Award for our Special Olympics Community Fun Day on behalf of Loftus Recreation Centre.
Tash expressed, “I was thrilled to be part of the Loftus team and accept the award. The team are living examples of the pioneering YouMeUs philosophy in action.
“Anyone that enters our venue is immediately impressed with the way we see every person as an opportunity to help them improve their well-being. Our initiative in displaying communication boards in our gym, dance studio and foyer ensures that even those that are non-verbal feel comfortable in asking for help to meet their needs,” Tash explained.
Tash says some of her work highlights have been:
- Partnering with Developmental Disability WA to film a commonwealth funded project developing a disability training package for gym staff.
- Partnering with the Department of Training and Workforce to film a gym client for a recent active lifestyle ad campaign.
- Winning an International Day of People with a Disability Grant to purchase Aided Language Boards for the centre.
- Partnering with Rotary to receive a Lego donation for our Free Lego Club.

“I absolutely love what we do at Loftus Recreation Centre and Belgravia Leisure. The best thing about my role is the wonderful staff I work with and how everyone is committed to helping others.
“Everyone may walk a little differently but we can all walk together. Being fair is not about being equal. Being fair is giving people what they need to participate.”
