Momo has been with Belgravia Leisure for over a year as our Tourism & Wellness Projects and Executive Support and says, “I deliver strategic outcomes for our holiday parks, wellness, hot spring properties, resorts, and attractions and no two days are the same!”
What are some of your highlights/magic moments working with Belgravia Leisure?
“Seeing our venues come to life from proposal to Belgravia Leisure-managed! I work closely with the Business Development team on proposals for holiday parks and other tourism properties that are out to tender. Collaborating to create our proposed management strategies and product offerings, I become very familiar with the vision and potential for the sites, and it’s very exciting when we are successful. I’ve worked on delivering the strategies for Creswick Holiday Park, the Sands Torquay and Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa and it’s very rewarding to see them now (or soon) operating,” Momo explained.
How have you been impacted by COVID-19 & what have you learnt?
Momo says, “I started my role working remotely from home in regional VIC as we were in lockdown. It’s incredible how much collaboration and work can happen over Teams and emails, but nothing beats face to face interaction, especially in the tourism industry. I’ve learned how agile our teams are, being able to facilitate short notice lockdowns and how resilient the industry is as a whole.”
What is your favourite thing about your career?
“The wellness opportunities. I’ve always had a personal and professional interest in spa and wellness and managed a spa in San Francisco, CA after I graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s in Hotel Management.”
“I learned a lot about the operations which I draw on when creating strategies for our wellness venues here at Belgravia Leisure. I also love the variety and growth. I’m drawn to tourism for the wide variety of opportunities and locations I can work across. I’ve worked in many sectors across the tourism industry (hotels, spas, restaurants) in the USA and Australia. I love a new challenge and love that no two days are ever the same in my role.”
“And the people. I love working with people who are driven and passionate about their careers. The team at Belgravia Leisure are some of the hardest working people I know and I’m grateful to be a part of it!”
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
“Continuing to grow the tourism portfolio of the business!”
What are 3 things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
- Traveling (pre-Covid). I love going to new cities and finding the best restaurants to dine in and places to stay. Great service and notable encounters with staff, locals, or other travelers make the best memories. With Belgravia Leisure’s Tourism & Wellness venues, it’s critical to look at our offering through the eyes of a guest to make sure we are offering an amazing guest experience.
- The Outdoors. Surfing, diving, camping, hiking – you name it. I love the fresh air and take advantage of any opportunity I am in the water or out of range to take a break from screens!
- My puppy, Milo. Chances are if we’ve been on a Teams call, you’ve met her or have heard her snoring in the background.
