Catherine Foreman has worked with Belgravia Leisure for almost ten years. Catherine started as Regional Manager and progressed through to her current role as South Australia’s State Manager.
When asked what some of her highlights of working with Belgravia Leisure are, Catherine said, “The growth of South Australia has been a big highlight. Both in site numbers but specifically in the team we have here and the contribution they continue to make to the wider Belgravia Leisure team.”
How have you and your team been impacted by Covid and what have you learnt?
“Where to start? Unfortunately, we are still being impacted with many staff off sick, programs and services needing to be adjusted as we go. Our Venue Managers and site teams are doing an amazing job adjusting, helping out and keeping our venues open with quick turnarounds. We certainly continue to learn how great our teams are,” Catherine said.
What is your favourite and least favourite thing about your career?
“My favourite thing is seeing the passion and success our site teams have. That can be really motivating and gives you the kick along we all need sometimes to keep pushing for the next thing.
“I am lucky that in my role I get to see many great things along with some annoying things but I get a good balance and don’t get too bogged down in the tedious items,” Catherine said.
Where do you see yourself in the next three to five years?
“Hopefully continuing to be involved with great teams and getting to do what I enjoy, which is providing the community with great opportunities,” Catherine said.
What are three things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
“I have a 6-year-old that keeps me well and truly on my toes. Doing fun activities and experiences with her is something I really enjoy. While keeping my 5-year-old Labradoodle, Arthur from eating clothes, rubbish and other nasty things, keeps me on my toes as well.
“I like to watch or go to all sports and I am very passionate about the Carlton Football Club and enjoy that they might even make finals this year,” Catherine said.
What does sustainability mean to you?
“Sustainability means ensuring our venues do their bit for the environment and we conserve our resources as best we can in any way we can.
“Additionally, it means ensuring our programs and services are sustainable so they can keep operating. We don’t run things at a loss but rather run them efficiently,” Catherine concluded.
