In the world of leisure and recreation, some individuals stand out for their exceptional skills and a deep passion for their work that inspires them. One of these individuals is Bobby Savic, our Area Operations Manager for Watermark, Mill Park Leisure Centre, Thomastown Aquatic and Leisure Centre, Whittlesea Seasonal Pool and the Area Manager for Strathbogie and Mansfield Shires.

With a career spanning over two decades and the last six years with Belgravia Leisure, Bobby’s journey has been remarkable.

Bobby’s journey in the leisure industry began 23 years ago, and what hasn’t he done? He’s worked in various roles, showcasing his adaptability. These roles have included Customer Service Officer, Lifeguard, Sales Consultant, Duty Manager, Swim Teacher, Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor, Aquatics and Operations Coordinator, Operations and Contract Manager, Assistant Venue Manager and Venue Manager.

Bobby says, “This experience has paved the way for my roles at Belgravia Leisure and my current role as an Area Operations Manager. I see this role as a fresh opportunity to make a difference within the communities we serve.”

Reflecting on his time working with us, he continues, “I cherish many moments and accomplishments, including collaborating with exceptional colleagues launching the Allied Health Service at Aquarena in 2018. This was a pioneering initiative, receiving accolades like Health Club Facility of the Year, Duty Manager and Life Guard of the Year in 2019 and 2020, and many more awards.

“As well as celebrating Aquarena’s 50th anniversary, achieving remarkable membership growth and safety certifications, hosting successful charity events, and responding effectively to the challenges of the post-COVID era.”

Bobby’s three greatest passions in life are his family and close friends, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and his unwavering love for soccer/football, especially Manchester United and Real Madrid. He’s also a fan of the Matildas and their success on the world stage.

Bobby’s favourite part of his career is guiding and empowering those around him. Bobby is known for facing the ups and downs of the industry with a positive mindset, supporting his team and understanding that challenges are opportunities for growth.

Bobby says his journey would not have been possible without the support and guidance of the right people. “Kris Miller, Chris Worsnop, Aylie Spence and Tim Hutchinson have been instrumental in shaping my career and I’m truly grateful for their guidance.”
