Ashleigh Phillips has been with Belgravia Leisure since February of 2019. Ashleigh says, “I started as a swim teacher at Franklin Pool and Leisure (NZ), and then moved to Swim School Coordinator at Franklin Pool and Leisure (NZ). Then in December 2020, I moved to the role of Venue Manager at Huntly Aquatic Centre (NZ).”
What have been some of your highlights/magic moments working with Belgravia Leisure in New Zealand?
“One of the magic moments would have been winning an award at our New Zealand Conference in 2019. A highlight would be the opportunities and growth that Belgravia Leisure has to offer. When I started as a swim teacher, I didn’t think within two years that I would be given the opportunity to become a Venue Manager,” Ashleigh explained.
Tell us about the people you work with
“The people I work with are amazing! From part-time to casual staff they are always up for a laugh. The senior leadership team in New Zealand are so supportive and willing to help,” Ashleigh said.
What is your favourite thing about your career?
“Being part of a team where you can grow and develop not just in the job but as a person as well,” Ashleigh explained.
What are 3 things you’re most passionate about in life and why?
- My family and friends, they are my biggest support network.
- Taekwon-Do. I love the challenge and the variety of Taekwon-Do. It’s always keeping me on my toes!
- Continuing to learn and develop in my job, and in my personal life.
