Last week more than 150 managers and up-and-coming leaders converged on Melbourne for the annual Belgravia Leisure Australasian Conference and gala awards. This year’s conference, themed ‘Get Connected’, is part of Belgravia Leisure’s commitment to developing and inspiring leaders within the leisure industry.
The two-day conference included presentations and workshops covering business planning and systems, human resources, digital marketing, engaging with your local community, and disability and diversity programming. Highlights included presentations from Olympic medallist and Belgravia Leisure Swimming and Water Safety Ambassador, Brooke Hanson OAM, with her inspiring story of perseverance, dedication and in believing in your goals and from Paul Brown (aka Mr Retention), founder of the global Face2Face program, who reinforced the message of making every minute count.
At the conference’s gala awards dinner, Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Lawnton Aquatic Centre was awarded the coveted Facility of the Year award, from over 120 sites across Australia and New Zealand.
