The Carramar, Marangaroo, Point Walter and Fremantle Public Golf Courses have come alive with junior golfers taking to the greens throughout January.
In an exciting step towards its mission of getting one million kids active, Belgravia Leisure partnered with Golf Australia’s TeeMates program to host a highly successful junior golf series across four public golf courses in Western Australia.
The series, held throughout January, gave young golfers the opportunity to connect, compete, and most importantly, have fun!
TeeMates, Golf Australia’s official junior golf community, is designed to support kids of all skill levels on their golfing journeys. The program offers kids and teens the chance to play golf with peers, gain a Golf Australia handicap to track progress, receive a membership gift and participate in events across the country.
The WA 9-Hole Series kicked off at Marangaroo Golf Course on January 9, with subsequent tournaments at Fremantle (January 16), Carramar (January 23) and Point Walter (January 30). Each event followed a Modified Stroke play format, with players competing over nine holes.

Participants vied for weekly prizes and earned Order of Merit points, with a bonus point awarded for each round played—up to 44 points across the four events. As the series progressed, the competition heated up, leading to a thrilling finale at Point Walter Golf Course, known for its narrow fairways and fast greens.

Na-Phan Lloyd took the day’s top score with a gross of 40 in the boys’ event. However, consistency won the Order of Merit title, with Asher Loong (WAGC) claiming the Boys’ crown with 37 points, ahead of runners-up Damon Donaldson and Adam Toth.
In the girls’ division, Zoe Rey Del Val won the final event with a score of 45, but Mia Pickering (Wembley) won the Girls’ Order of Merit title, finishing with 30 points. Zoe and Esther Goh were joint runners-up, showcasing the talent in the junior field.
Jack McDonald, Belgravia Leisure’s National Programs Manager, said, “Belgravia Leisure is a loyal supporter of Golf Australia’s TeeMates program nationally. It was an amazing opportunity to provide an additional platform in WA for junior golfers to connect and compete in a fun and supportive environment.
“We look forward to building on this format annually, providing more opportunities for junior golfers to test their skills, form connections around the sport and get active.”
Douglas Bailey, Business Operations Manager WA (Golf), echoed this sentiment.
“Belgravia Leisure is a dedicated supporter of the TeeMates program across the country. It was great to offer an extra platform in WA for junior golfers to engage and compete in a fun and encouraging setting for all.”
