Chris Chambers has been teaching health and fitness for over 40 years and joined the Belgravia Leisure team in South Australia four years ago.
Here’s a bit more about Chris.
What is your position title?
Group Fitness Instructor
Tell us a bit about yourself and your previous role/s if any.
I have been teaching fitness at Belgravia Leisure for the last four years but in total, I’ve been teach for 40 years!
Teaching Funky Fitness with two over 50s groups and AquaFit. As well as Australia’s latest Dance Fitness program U-JAM Fitness.
What do you enjoy the most about your position?
The people that come to my classes, they are dedicated to coming regularly. The gym has a great atmosphere with excellent managers and a great team to work with, so I enjoy teaching there very much.
I have watched my classes grow, Funky Fit especially from 8 people to 35 plus! I designed an upbeat class that is very popular which is exciting to be apart of helping improve people’s health and fitness.
How do you incorporate health and fitness into your lifestyle?
Instructing but I’m also a nurse in Emergency. So I care about it a lot!
How do you manage a healthy work-life balance?
I have always taught fitness and been a nurse combining the two has been the key to excellent health and fitness.
