Seaview Christian College Year 6 students dove into the swimming program at the Ryan Mitchell Swimming Centre in Port Augusta over the summer break.
The program, integrated into the school’s Health and Physical Education curriculum, provided students from Reception to Year 6 with aquatic skills under the guidance of Belgravia Leisure’s experienced swimming instructors.
Murray Scholz, a teacher at Seaview Christian College, highlighted the program’s significance in enhancing students’ proficiency in water-related activities.
“Thanks to the dedication and experience of the Belgravia Leisure swimming instructors, our students gained valuable knowledge and experience in a wide range of essential skills including water safety, survival skills, rescue, and learning to swim,” said Scholz.
Scholz further expressed gratitude towards the positive learning environment fostered by the team, which enabled students to accelerate their learning and showcase remarkable progress throughout the program.
“It was so exciting to see and hear about each student’s progress and achievements throughout the program. Thanks to this swimming program, our Seaview Christian College students are more confident in and around water and are better equipped to cope with an emergency, should the need arise,” Scholz concluded.
De Irwin, Aquatic Services Coordinator and Access & Inclusion Coordinator emphasised our commitment to providing comprehensive swimming programs that empower individuals of all ages and abilities.
