Solve Disability Solutions, in partnership with Somerville Recreation Centre, hosted their inaugural Sporting Open Day on the 8th of July.
Assistant Centre Manager Penny Boyce said the event was a huge success. “Participants enrolled into the program were able to try out a variety of sporting activities,” she said.
“We are lucky enough to have WPBA wheelchairs on site as well as the many different ones Solve Disability Solutions brought along to showcase to participants,” Penny added.
Somerville Recreation Centre, like many other Belgravia Leisure managed venues, places an emphasis on accessibility for all. The venue was already equipped with a good supply of diverse and inclusive activities, which meant that very little additional equipment was required for the Open Day.
The event was such a success that Solve Disability Solutions has already booked a spot for the next 18 months during the School Holiday Activities for Kids program.
