Adelaide Hills Recreation Centre has gymnasts back on the mats thanks to Mount Barker District Council’s recent upgrade of the space used by the local gymnastic community.
“Due to the extreme heat and cold, many classes held by Hills Gymnastics Academy had to be cancelled throughout winter and summer,” said Venue Manager, Nathan Hart.
“Thanks to Mount Barker District Council, we have been able to install air conditioning, new carpet and wall insulation.
“This means our local community of gymnasts, families and regional competitors can focus on their training and without worrying about weather conditions.”
The $150,000 upgrade was supported by a $31,000 grant from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.
“The upgrade was a positive result for recreational and competitive gymnasts whose focus was more about keeping warm while attending winter classes or finding reprieve during our South Australian summers,” concluded Nathan.
Belgravia Leisure takes a local-first approach whereby we help our partners create venues that locals want by tailoring facilities, services and programs.
