Belgravia Leisure’s QLD Aquatic Manager, Cheryl McLennan featured on Channel 7’s Sunrise in Brisbane today, January 27, to discuss the importance of water safety.
With the weather heating up it is crucial to equip yourself and your loved ones with essential swimming and water safety skills. If you or your child don’t know how to swim, it is never too late to learn!
Cheryl has been in the aquatics industry for over 20 years and featured on Sunrise undertaking swimming lessons and teaching kids some essential water safety skills.
When asked by Sunrise host Sam Mac “what are some of your best water safety tips?” Cheryl replied, “It’s really important for parents to be around the pool at all times. We must ensure a responsible adult is always keeping watch when around any aquatic environment. This morning we’re working on some kicking techniques with the kids – it’s really important that they learn how to kick correctly. The better the kick the stronger swimmers they’ll become.”
