More than 40 native koala food trees planted, a campground 90% paperless and community environmental events already in the works, sustainability is becoming part of everyday operations at Lake Wivenhoe Campground in Queensland’s Lockyer Valley.
Helping drive this momentum is Area Manager Kaytee Frost, who has spent the past four years growing both a career with Belgravia Pro (Bpro) and a passion for protecting the natural environment across Bpro parks.
Kaytee’s journey into the industry started in an unexpected way. Travelling Australia with her partner, the pair took on relief management at Lake Wivenhoe under Business Operations Manager QLD, Amber Hughes and quickly discovered a love for the role.
“The location and being surrounded by nature were something we really loved. Seeing the proactive approach to sustainability from Amber and Belgravia Leisure made us realise just how much impact our parks can have on the environment,” Kaytee said.
Since then, Kaytee has progressed into an Area Manager role, creating opportunities to expand sustainability initiatives beyond Lake Wivenhoe Campground and share ideas across multiple parks.

Leading sustainable futures
“At Lake Wivenhoe Campground we are now 90% paperless, with a goal of becoming fully digital by the new financial year. Rainwater tanks are used to extinguish unattended campfires safely, conserving water while protecting the surrounding landscape.
“My partner and I are also local wildlife carers, so protecting the environment is something we care about every single day. We want to make sure we are doing our part to preserve natural resources for future generations,” Kaytee says.
The team has also begun removing invasive plant species across the campground, replacing them with native vegetation to better support local wildlife habitats.
And the work is far from finished.
To mark National Tree Day in July, Kaytee is working with contract partner SEQwater to invite local schools to the campground to plant native trees, including koala food species, helping expand habitat while educating the next generation about caring for the environment.
Alexia Morgan, GM Environment and Sustainability, says:
“Sustainability comes to life through passionate people like Kaytee and the team who are on the ground. Kaytee’s work shows how our parks can play an important role in protecting local ecosystems while also creating meaningful guest experiences.
“Initiatives like planting native trees, restoring habitats and engaging the community in sustainability are exactly the kind of actions that help move our sustainability commitments forward across Bpro,” Alexia said.
Kaytee hopes to continue building awareness and education around environmental sustainability across Bpro parks and beyond.
“People sometimes think sustainability must be a huge effort, but it’s really about the small actions we take where we can. Over time, those small contributions add up and can have a meaningful impact on the environment and the communities around us,” Kaytee concluded.
