Who says golf can’t be fabulous and fun? The Rainbow Golf Cup has returned to Yarrambat Park Golf Course for its third year, welcoming LGBTIQA+ golfers and allies of all ages and abilities for a laid-back, fun-filled day of 9-hole Ambrose golf.
Hosted by Melbourne Rainbow Golfers in partnership with Proud 2 Play, Belgravia Leisure, Golf Australia and Nillumbik Shire Council, the event continues to grow as an inclusive space where everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned players, can feel welcome, supported and part of a community.
Held at the beautiful Yarrambat Park Golf Course, Victoria, the event saw a colourful mix of players tee off in Ambrose format, which is ideal for first-timers and creates a team-focused, pressure-free way to play.

Whilst for many it was their first time swinging a club while others brought years of experience, everyone shared the same goal of having fun, connecting and enjoying the day together.
“We love hosting the Rainbow Cup out here at Yarrambat and offering a fun day in a safe and welcoming environment,” said Venue Manager, Matt Weisheit. “We’re proud to support events like this that help pave the way for golf to become a truly inclusive sport for all.”
The course has never looked so colourful and the atmosphere and community has never been so strong. The smiles say it all – this wasn’t just a golf event, it was a celebration of belonging.
