Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park (SBHP) has been named Best Independently Rated Caravan-Holiday Park in New South Wales, earning them pride of place on the 2025 Gold List of Australian Accommodation.
Awarded by the NSW Tourism Association and voted on by locals and travellers, the accolade reflects the park’s commitment to creating a relaxing and memorable experience for every guest. Their new slogan, “Making relaxation a reality,” captures the spirit of what they offer.
Since Park Manager Craig Dearlove took the lead in January 2025, the park has evolved into a peaceful coastal retreat. His approach to hospitality blends thoughtful details with a welcoming atmosphere, helping the park connect with guests from all walks of life.

From the moment guests arrive, the SBHP team sets a warm and inclusive tone. Personalised welcome cards feature each guest’s name in both English and Spanish, and late arrivals are greeted by Winston the Whale, the park’s friendly mascot who adds a light-hearted touch to the check-in process. Inside each accommodation, televisions are tuned to SBS Chill, playing calming music to help guests ease into holiday mode.
Amber Hughes, Business Operations Manager, described Craig’s leadership as both playful and intentional, focused on creating meaningful guest experiences.
“This recognition has not only enhanced the park’s reputation but captured the hearts of visitors from near and far,” said Amber Hughes, Business Operations Manager. “This honour from the NSW Tourism Association is a testament to the park’s evolution and the team’s unwavering dedication to excellence.”

SBHP also celebrates its team in creative ways. A photo wall introduces team members by name and place of birth, encouraging conversations and highlighting the diversity of the team. Even the bathrooms offer a moment of humour, with quotes on the back of cubicle doors designed to make guests smile. The reception area is softly lit with candles, creating a peaceful and inviting space that guests remember. Guest feedback is glowing:
“What a treasure of a place… Can’t speak highly enough of the staff and how accommodating they are to all comers. One of our favourite places in Australia,” said jemacx1, a recent Tripadvisor reviewer.
Park Manager Craig shared that team members are encouraged to engage with guests throughout the park, helping to build a sense of community that goes beyond the typical holiday experience.
Tim Hutchison, Belgravia Leisure’s Head of Guest Experience, says, “It’s a reminder that personalised touches and genuine care for guests have a large impact on guest satisfaction.”

As part of the vibrant NSW tourism community, Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park continues to set the standard for independently rated accommodation, highlighting that the best escapes are built on heart, hospitality and a little bit of magic.
