Health & Wellbeing
When the customer is at the centre of everything we do, the outcomes are always about improved health and wellbeing.
Communities with healthy, engaged citizens contribute more positively to society. Its residents live longer, live with freedom, less mental health issues and at a lower cost to governments than citizens who struggle with physical and mental health issues.
Over the years we have developed key partnerships to deliver our vision of connecting community to leisure, powered with knowledge provided by big data, which we can share more about below.
In the health space however, our commitment has been in creating programs to benefit every member of the community, young an old.

For those seeking a more tranquil experience, Hepburn Wellness offers an extensive range of beauty, spa and hydrotherapies centred on the region’s unique mineral waters, renowned for their therapeutic qualities. A 12 Week Challenge involving comprehensive touch points with members to ensure they reach their goals and achieve amazing results throughout the challenge. It includes access to the Be Active app, which offers a nutrition portal providing a meal plan for 12 weeks and a booking system for group personal training sessions.
Strength for Life
The Strength for life program promotes health and well-being among people over the age of 50 through strength training programs run by accredited fitness providers.
The Life! Program
The Life! program is a lifestyle modification program that helps you reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Run by expert health professionals, the program is delivered as a Group Course service.
Healthy Hearts Program
Belgravia Leisure has implemented the Healthy Hearts program for Veterans at many of our facilities which are flourishing programs that provide social benefits as well as health benefits. The program has expanded now to include exercise physiologist consultations.
A medium intensity, fun and upbeat class aimed at building strength and stamina targeted at over 50s who have a basic level of fitness and mobility. Every class involves cardiovascular training with step routines and resistance training using dumbbells. The outcomes are to encourage a happy, fun and inclusive atmosphere between participants whilst keeping the brain active with easy choreography and the body moving with light weights and steps.
Partners in Health
This program allows the facilitation of community-driven outcomes through a strengthened relationship between allied health professionals and community leisure centres. To ensure our leisure centres are providing an opportunity for access and inclusion to individuals who previously haven’t had the ability to seek such treatment due to the associated financial burden.
When we think of wellness we may immediately imagine spas and essential oils. Whilst spas and retreats are quintessential in the wellness industry – we’ve dug deeper to understand wellness in the way it relates to communities.
A new way of Looking at Wellbeing
Our approach to wellbeing includes using data to reach people in isolation, unable to afford access to our leisure centres, services and support to take the first steps toward healthy living. Thanks to our partnership with ActiveXchange we can finally reach these people for the first time using some of the most accurate data-sourcing software available in the world; elevating the isolated into a life of healthy decisions, unlocking the happiness only great health can bring.
How Tristar will change the perception of medical intervention
How often do GPs refer patients to the gym instead of the chemist in treating issues like anxiety or depression? It has been proven through clinical study that the symptoms of mental health issues can be managed effectively through health and exercise.
That’s why we have partnered with the Tristar medical Group to co-locate general practitioners in some of our leisure centres. For the first time GPs will be able to refer patients directly to leisure activities on-site, beginning the process of longer-lasting and healthier outcomes for patients much sooner and without unnecessary medical treatment.
Our commitment to positive community health outcomes includes the introduction of exercise physiologists on-site in many of our centres. To overcome mental and physical health issues in our communities and connect more people to leisure it’s our belief that professional medical expertise is required on-site. Eps will construct a rehabilitation program, or return to exercise plans that are tailored and result in faster results, greater performance and deeper satisfaction for our members and guests.
