Ever wondered how to keep kids engaged in their swimming lessons over winter? Mill Park Leisure has played host to Superhero Week as part of their winter GOswim retention campaign, adding a fun and engaging twist to swimming lessons during the chilliest time of the year.
The week encouraged kids, teachers and even parents to dress up as their favourite superheroes, bringing energy and excitement to the pool. On the busiest days of the program, the venue welcomed special guests including Batman, Superwoman and Wonder Woman to surprise and delight participants.

Both parents and children embraced the spirit of the week, making it one of the most well-received engagement initiatives of the season.
“Superhero Week was an absolute blast – the smiles on the kids’ faces said it all,” said Carol Curcic, GOswim Manager at Mill Park Leisure Centre.
“It was fantastic to see not just the little ones, but also parents and our swim teachers getting into the spirit and having fun. Events like this are a great reminder that learning to swim can be both educational and exciting. The energy around the centre was incredible all week, and we’re so proud to create moments like this that our community can enjoy together.”

The event, spanning three days during the busiest program days, aimed to improve experience and visitation at Mill Park Leisure by turning ordinary swim lessons into a thrilling adventure. The GOswim leadership team engaged XLENT Events to welcome superheroes including Batman, Superwoman and Wonder Woman who were a hit, with loads of smiles, laughter and photos captured throughout the week. The event created a vibrant atmosphere, helping to keep children enthusiastic about swimming during the colder months.
