For Kylie Gunn, wellbeing isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a way of life. And it’s this deep-rooted belief in mindfulness, balance and connection that makes her feel instantly connected to Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa.
Kylie joined the team in March as our new Marketing Manager, bringing with her not only years of experience in strategic marketing and communications but a genuine passion for the values that sit at the heart of Wai Ariki.
“I’ve always believed in making space for the things that recharge me, whether that’s a walk along the beach, reading a good book or spending time with my beautiful whānau and friends,” says Kylie. “So to be part of a team that champions wellness, culture and community in everything we do, really feels like a perfect fit.”
Kylie’s marketing journey began in Rotorua’s tourism sector back in 2011. Since then, she’s led impactful campaigns and brand initiatives across government, corporate and non-profit sectors.
Kylie spent the last 11 years at Scion, a Crown Research Institute, where she held several senior positions including Head of Marketing and Communications. Her work there spanned everything from digital strategy and stakeholder engagement to internal comms and large-scale brand campaigns.
Alongside her professional experience, Kylie has also worked as a marketing consultant, lectured in marketing, and continues to give back as a Board Member for the Graeme Dingle Foundation in Rotorua.
Now, she’s turning her focus to elevating the profile of Wai Ariki, and she’s ready to hit the ground running.
“My immediate priorities are to deepen my understanding of our offerings, explore fresh opportunities and strengthen our brand presence across all touchpoints,” she says. “Ultimately, my goal is to help position Wai Ariki as Aotearoa’s premier cultural wellness destination.”
But it’s not just about strategy and storytelling for Kylie, it’s the people and the purpose that matter most.
“What really excites me about joining Belgravia is the chance to contribute to something truly special. Wai Ariki is not only a world-class wellness experience, but one that’s firmly grounded in te ao Māori, innovation and the power of community.”
Kylie’s enthusiasm is infectious, and she’s eager to connect with the wider team.
“I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this kaupapa and the incredible mahi happening here. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and say kia ora — I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone.”
