Belgravia Leisure has rolled out a new five-year sustainability plan, focusing on reducing plastic, emissions, energy use and water waste across over 220+ community venues we manage across Australia and New Zealand.
The plan was shaped by feedback from over 1,100 people including local community members, team members and partners who shared what environmental issues matter most to them.
Here’s what we’re tackling over the next five years:
- Cutting plastic waste and what ends up in landfill
- Lowering greenhouse gas emissions
- Using less energy by improving how facilities run
- Cutting back on potable water use
- Doing better with environmental education, data and certified environmental practices
Every site managed by Belgravia Leisure will have its own action plan based on this bigger picture, with clear goals and ways to measure progress.
It’s all about making real improvements where it counts, not just ticking boxes.
“This is our third plan like this, but probably our most practical yet,” said Alexia Morgan, Group Manager of Sustainability and Environment. “People in our communities care about the impact we’re having and so do we. This is about making smarter day-to-day choices that add up and make a real difference in the communities we serve.”
With climate risks and environmental pressures increasing, the plan aims to make sustainable changes at the local level, where communities feel it most. The plan runs through to 2030 and is designed to deliver real, visible changes, not just promises.
